I don't see love for The Caribbean here so let me be the first to review this excellent hat. I found Truffaux after a long quest for the perfect travel hat. I bought The Caribbean as a smaller brim alternative to the Traveller, although on mine the brim is the specified 55mm only at the front, becoming 62-64mm at the sides and back.
The design is classic Panama. The crochet weave is perfect for sun protection plus crown ventilation, and the fabric sweatband is way more comfortable than leather. I haven't seen any 'bleed through' of sweat to the black band.
The all-straw design has been very robust for travel; on my last trip it was folded in a suitcase lost for 40 hrs while Aer Lingus tried to find California.
Following Oska's advice I sized up - I'm a 57 and bought a large - and the spacers worked great. After getting blown into a fountain in Samoa it shrank a bit, and now fits perfectly without spacers.
The only negative is that the brim edge can become uneven as it lacks the wire I think reinforces The Traveller brim. This makes it look more casual, and I think it looks best for beach and country use. That said, I just wore it around a European city for a week and it was still good looking.
