In times past you knew how to wear a hat. It was learned from your family, friends, career, region, religion and culture. It stated clearly who you are, where you are from, what you do and what you are like. It spoke louder than any other piece of clothing, and was a subtle highly varied artform.

Now, the majority of us live in a monoculture, where the whole planet dresses roughly the same. Where hats have been replaced by the cap, with an advertisement written across the front. How sad is that.

Some of you, will have tried to find a good hat - and your cupboards will be full of hats that don't quiet work. You are not really even sure why they failed.

But you persist, because when you finally get it right, you look amazing - the stares, compliments, eye contact, flirting and respect. The art, is in finding the right one.
