TheTruffaux is designed as a very robust hat for everyday use. The unique water-resistant treatment protects it to a large degree from stains, water damage and general grubbiness while allowing it to breath. Wiping with a damp cloth will take care of most mishaps.The most important thing is to keep the hat moist - if it dries out and feels 'crunchy', that is the fibres cracking and your hat is slowly breaking. All you need to do is moisten it - spray with a mist, walk in the rain, hang it in a steamy bathroom - and then it goes back to normal.
If your hat gets crushed, bent or dropped in the ocean it will need to be reshaped - using steam from a kettle you can gently heat and moisten the hat. Once it is soft it is easily reshaped, and you just need to let it dry in that shape. If you are unsure, just drop us a line and we can help you out.
